The Edmonton Art Gallery

The Edmonton Art Gallery also known as the Art Gallery of Alberta is an art gallery located in the downtown of Edmonton, Alberta in the country of Canada. This art gallery was found in 1924 by the name of "The Edmonton Museum of Arts". The first exhibition of the gallery was in the Palm Room of the Hotel Macdonald in 1924.

Later after its first exhibition the museum had found several home locations such as: The Palm Room, the old Edmonton public library, the 4th floor of the Civic Block and the Edmonton Motors building. In 1956 the museum had re titled their name to "The Edmonton Art Gallery". The acquisition of the new building for the gallery meant that the gallery was now able to invite guests for larger art exhibitions with higher standards. This gallery is affiliated with the Canadian Heritage Network, Virtual Museum of Canada and Canadian Museums Association. The museum art works collection are more than 7,000 pieces of art such as: sculptures, paintings, Asian art, photographs and installation works.
